Subud is an international spiritual organization that is based on the practice of the latihan kejiwaan (spiritual training) -
a direct personal contact with the power of Almighty God or Highest Power.
The latihan awakens an inner vibration which is felt whilst being fully conscious and manifests in individual ways during the spiritual practice of Subud.
It provides inner guidance for each person’s path through life.

The word Subud is an abbreviation of the words Susila Budhi Dharma.
Susila means to be able to live according to the Will of God as really true human beings.
Budhi indicates that in every creation, in every creature of God, including human beings, there is divine power which works within.
Dharma means the possibility for every creature, including human beings, to surrender and submit completely to God’s Will.

Subud, therefore, contains “the possibility for human beings to follow the right way of living.”

The World Subud Association (WSA) is the international organization for the worldwide Subud community.
The main purposes of WSA are to serve the members and to facilitate the development of Subud in the world.
There are national organizations in over 54 countries.

Subud is an international, spiritual association of people of all nationalities, cultures and beliefs. It is not a religion and requires no study or teacher. The word "Subud" is a contraction of the Sanskrit words susila (right living), budhi (a higher power), and dharma (our connection to a higher power). Subud members regularly practice the "latihan kejiwaan", which is Indonesian for “spiritual exercise”. Every individual has their own unique experience during this practice, in which they feel connected with the power of God, or the Great Life Force. The first person who unexpectedly received this experience in 1925, was Muhammad Subuh Sumohadiwidjojo from Java. Although he grew up in a very simple way, a sequence of events enabled him to travel around the world and meet with many people who were longing for a way of worship from within. Today, Subud is established in over fifty countries and the contact can still be passed on in its original form.

Y.M. Bapak Muhammad Subuh Sumohadiwidjojo

Bapak Muhammad Subuh Sumohadiwidjojo first received the latihan kejiwaan in 1925 in Java through a series of spontaneous spiritual experiences. The latihan gradually spread throughout Indonesia, and in 1957, Bapak was invited to England, where hundreds of people joined Subud. From there Subud spread around the world. Today, there are some 10,000 members in 54+ countries. Subud is not a new religion, nor a sect of any religion, nor is it a teaching, but rather a personal experience. Subud members come from all walks of life, nationalities, religions, cultures and beliefs..

OVERVIEW OF OCTOBER WORLD SUBUD COUNCIL MEETING

WCOT General Meeting – 10 December

Rusdi Bustillo, the coordinator of the congress organizing team called all members involved in organizing the congress for meeting.

Additional new team members have been  recruited and were introduced. The new team are working under logistics, accommodation, transportation, health, and services. The WSA treasurer is also reinforced for dealing with congress matters. 

 

Muhammad Subuh Foundation (MSF)

MSF is the foundation of the World Subud Association. It honors the founder of Subud, Bapak Muhammad Subuh Sumohadiwidjojo. The purpose of MSF is to build a capital fund to sustain and grow the mission of Subud around the world. MSF gives grants for Subud houses, international helper travel, and the international archives. The capital fund maintains and invests Subud’s assets received through donations and bequests.
